I always knew I was going to be an artist. I’ve been drawing since I was able to write. Drawing & painting has always been my first love. Once I started college I took up graphic design because it was the most sensible creative job. It was safe. I did that for years and made a good name for myself locally, even got some national coverage for Louisville’s own “Seafood Lady”, a restaurant which I did the logo for. I had a good run with design, landed in many fashion shows for my own line many many businesses here. I taught Art Design to many camps and institutions such as St. George’s scholar institute to give kids a chance to design their own shirts. Even with all the success of design I still felt incomplete. I started to feel like a robot more than an artist. My creativity was so boxed in. So I went back to my roots. This last year I got back to canvas painting, and I’ve been going ever since. I feel my inner creative child blossoming again.
